Test Criteria
The water vapor resistance (transport of vaporous sweat through the textile) of the sample is measured using the Hohenstein Skin Model.
The breathability of different materials can be evaluated both absolutely and comparatively and can be rated as ‘very good’, ‘good’ and ‘unsatisfactory’. The measured values can also be used to classify textiles for personal protective equipment (PPE) according to various standards.
