Test Criteria

This long-term test evaluates the acaricidal efficacy (mite killing effect) on the development of house dust mite populations of finished textiles or spray applications.

The acaricidal efficacy of a textile sample against house dust mites is performed following the French standard NF G39-011. House dust mites (Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus) are applied to the sample material and controls. The mite population growth is quantified after one week and six weeks.

In the case of three-dimensional test specimens (which do not allow for counting of mites) the allergen content (major allergen Der p 1) is determined after six weeks.

FACTSHEET: ANTI-DUST MITE
